Kenyan students achieve major milestones in 2024

Women For Change is a long-term supporter of Kakenya's Dream in rural Kenya. Our fundraising supports hundreds of young women in Kenya but also several young women here in Australia. Over the last few years, WFC has supported five Kenyan students to move to Sydney to study. We’re delighted to report that each of these students have achieved massive milestones in the last few months. Here's a few updates:

  • Linet, who has now completed a Masters in Cyber Security from Western Sydney University has also just commenced a graduate role as a Cyber Specialist at Iglu Student Accommodation.

  • Cynthia recently finished her nursing degree and is waiting on her registration as a nurse.

  • Sharon graduated with her Masters in Pharmacy and both her and Peyian have both secured jobs.

  • Our newest student arrival Vivian has just completed her first semester of her Medical Science degree at Western Sydney University. It has been a massive few months of adjustment for her as she traded her life in rural Kenya for the opportunity to complete a degree at WSU.

These young women are terrific roles models for their community. We look forward to following them on their leadership journey.
