Teach Her

At Women for Change we understand that achieving our goal of empowerment through education requires collaboration.  Our relationship with Teach Her, an American charity focused on helping young women raised in orphanages in India and Nepal, demonstrates this.  You can read more about Teach Her at www.teachher.org.  Teach Her has recognised that young women in developing nations raised in orphanages have the most difficult path to education in the world.  There are an estimated 8 million children living in orphanages worldwide and more than half are girls.

“Without relatives or support to fall back on, without a marketable skill, often without proper documents, these young women leave their respective institutions at 18 years old, incredibly vulnerable, often destined for a life of poverty, forced to find their own way in a society that didn’t want them in the first place.”  John Marshall, Founder of Teach Her.
