Reflecting on 2024, Shaping a Brighter 2025 for Young Women and Girls
As we approach the close of 2024, we at Women for Change are filled with gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received this year. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to make significant strides in our mission to empower women and young girls and drive meaningful change across our communities. Thanks to our strong on-the-ground partnerships, these initiatives flourished, empowering hundreds of young women through education, vocational training, and health resources. These projects and more were only made possible because of your support. Together, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive future.
Let's take a look at some highlights from this year!
This year, we held several key fundraising events that exceeded our expectations. From our Inaugural Art show to our second successful Leadership Masterclass, your generosity has helped raise vital funds to support our programs. These events were not just an opportunity to gather and celebrate, but also to continue building a movement that uplifts women in need. If you’d like to revisit these events and see how they’ve made an impact, please visit our website.
Throughout the year, we continued to make strides in our three key projects supporting young women across developing nations.
Some key highlights across our projects in 2024 include:
Kakenya’s Dream I Maasai Mara, Kenya
WFC is a long term supporter of Kakenya's Dream in rural Kenya. Our fundraising supports hundreds of young women in Kenya but also several young women here in Australia. Vivian arrived this year and has just completed her first semester in Medical Science at Western Sydney University, Linet has graduated with a Master's in cyber and has just commenced a new job and Cynthia is now a registered nurse. Read more about these inspiring girls on our website. These young women are terrific roles models for their community.
SPRJ Kanyashala Trust | Mumbai, India
As part of the SPRJK key talent program, WFC provided 25 young women both tuition fees and support to attend tailored programs to develop computer skills, English language improvement and personal development. WFC volunteers have also mentored these young women as they compete for internships and graduate roles in a highly competitive environment.
Heartland Centre for Women | Kathmandu, Nepal
In 2024 a new tertiary college and health clinic for women opened in Kathmandu with the support of WFC. The college is changing the lives of not only young women, but women of all ages, by creating a safe environment for health care consultations, including cervical cancer screening.
