Empowering Education: WIESOC UNSW's Matcha Stall
On 6th November, the Women in Engineering Society (WIESOC) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) organized a vibrant Matcha stall to raise funds in support of tertiary education for young women in India, Nepal, and Kenya. This initiative was part of their ongoing commitment to fostering educational opportunities and empowering women globally.
The event was a resounding success, with students and faculty members coming together to enjoy delicious matcha treats while contributing to a cause close to their heart. The stall not only offered a variety of matcha-based beverages and snacks but also served as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges faced by young women in accessing higher education in these regions.
WIESOC chose to support Women for Change because of their shared vision of creating a world where every woman has the opportunity to pursue her dreams through education. By partnering with Women for Change, WIESOC aims to make a tangible impact on the lives of young women, providing them with the resources and support they need to succeed academically and professionally.
The funds raised from the Matcha stall will go directly towards scholarships and educational programs, helping to break down barriers and open doors for disadvantaged young women in India, Nepal, and Kenya. This event is a testament to the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together for a common cause.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Matcha stall and contributed to this meaningful initiative. Together, we are making a difference, one cup of matcha at a time.
