Virtual Giving Event

Women for Change was proud to host a Virtual Giving Event on 18th May 2023 where so many of our supporters were inspired by the opportunities to support tertiary education for disadvantaged young women. We were joined by:

Manisha Bukhatoki, at the Heartland Centre for Women in Kathmandu, Nepal shared her education journey and how it has made her the women she is today.

Dr Asha Menon, the Principal at SPRJK College, India spoke of the importance of education to provide young women in Mumbia with life changing opportunities.

John Marshall, founder of Teach Her described the situation facing young women in orphanages in India and Nepal and the huge impact that tertiary education will make on their futures.

We’re so glad that students from each of these programs – Laxmi, Ankira and Rosey – were able to join us to share the impact of education on their lives and their hopes for the future.

You can still watch a recording of the whole crowdfunding experience here.

Through the generosity of our supporters, the event raised more that $76,000 on the night to support more than 76 young women to receive tertiary education this year.

You can still donate to this event via our dedicated donation page. When you donate, you may specify which of the 3 education projects you would like to support. (All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible in Australia and a receipt will be issued at the time of payment.)

We are grateful to the team at The Funding Network for partnering with Women for Change to enable the event. A very special ‘thank you’ to Denise Stewart at Women for Change for bringing this entire event to life.
