Eleanor Hall is a founding member of Women for Change. David Vaux approached her to help form the charity in response to her interview on the ABC with Dr Kakenya Ntaiya. She was humbled and enthusiastic about the possibility of working to make a difference to the lives of women and their communities through education. As the beneficiary of educational opportunities herself, she knows the power of education to drive change and is passionate about equality for women.

After more than two decades as a journalist, Eleanor shifted careers in 2020 and is about to graduate from the National Art School with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Prior to this she was a television and radio journalist with the ABC, including in Washington and the Canberra Parliamentary Press Gallery. She was a long time host of ABC Radio’s The World Today and reported and presented for The 7.30 Report, Lateline, Foreign Correspondent, AM, PM and The Drum. Prior to joining the ABC, she worked on films and television in the US and for US National Public Radio. She has degrees from Columbia University in New York and the University of Sydney and was a Fellow at Oxford and Stanford so she is well aware of the value of education.
