Empowering women through education

This year, 24 young Maasai women are embarking on a new journey as they each gain a university education. Thanks to the power of education, they can follow their dreams and break free from the harmful traditions of child marriage and female genital mutilation.

They are the first high school graduates from the Kakenya Centre of Excellence in rural Kenya, a groundbreaking boarding school for girls. The girls will become the engineers, doctors, IT specialists, teachers and pharmacists of the future, bringing skills and new opportunities back to support their communities and families. These girls are changing history, thanks to the courage and vision of Dr Kakenya Ntaiya, and the support of Women for Change.

Each girl will receive a scholarship to support their tertiary education, thanks to our donors and supporters.

Our mission is to empower women through education through the Women for Change Scholarship Program. We are changing lives and working together to support women.
