Kakenya’s Australian visit opened with a IWD lunch meeting, co-hosted by UTS, Uni. Sydney and Western Sydney Uni. and held at UTS, where she made the keynote address.

This tripartisan event brought together the universities that generously support the three Kenyan students and included a panel interview with all of them to share their experiences of education to far and their plans for the future.

The panel discussed the challenges and culture shock of relocating to Australia, as well as seeking to understand the impact that education has had on each of their lives, compared to what they would have otherwise experienced at home.

The event was covered by the media on 2SER radio and The Central news. Hear the 2SER Radio Interview on 2nd March
