Key talent program – helping young Indian women reach their potential through tertiary education

In 2023, Women for Change will support 20 young women in Mumbai to commence a bespoke “key talent” program to help them reach their potential.  Women for Change is partnering with a Trust in Mumbai that has been operating since 1924.  The SPRJ Kanyashala Trust aims to improve female literacy and provides subsidised education to worthy underprivileged young women.  Women for Change will work with this local organisation to identify talented young women to participate in a program focused on providing access not only to a University education but also to jobs in sectors where there is a skills shortage or need.

Key aspects of this program build on the experience that Women for Change has with Kakenya’s Dream and include:

  • Subsidised tuition fees and stipend for selected students studying approved courses (IT, Business, Journalism)
  • Assistance with internship experiences
  • Assistance with interview preparation and presentation skills
  • Secondment/scholarship opportunities with Australian Universities
