Corporate Involvement

International Women’s Day events were hosted at LEK, Morgan Stanley, Nexia and PwC. Members of these organisations actively engaged in discussions with Kakenya to understand the issues facing education of girls in Kenya and what is needed to bring about change. The support and generosity of the participants in these events was outstanding.

The involvement of talented and committed business and media women within our Standing on Our Shoulders teams was fundamental to the success of these events. The teams worked tirelessly to host wonderful, engaging events while working to tight deadlines.

In particular we are grateful to Sarah Macdonald, ABC Radio for her involvement in a breakfast event held at PwC. Kakenya’s visit concluded with a relaxed conversation between Sarah and Kakenya which was both heart felt and entertaining and showed yet another side to Kakenya’s story.
