The young women are part of our mentoring program.

The Women for Change Global Mentoring program brings together the wisdom of experienced, senior business leaders and the graduating class of the Kakenya Center of Excellence. The goals of the mentoring program are to support, encourage and empower students as they navigate their way from school to university. The program has officially launched with 24 students matched with a mentor to help guide her through her first year of university or tertiary studies.

The program kicked off with the gift of an inspiration journal that each mentor inscribed a special message inside to their student. The young women loved receiving their journals from Australia and reading the supportive and encouraging messages inside.

Mercy Merinyo and Loice Mucheni read their journals. They are part of the mentoring program.

Key Areas of focus for the Mentoring Program

  • Provide a global perspective to students.
  • Guide them on topics relating to university, their studies and careers.
  • Encourage the students to stay on track with their studies.
  • Focus on empowering students and helping them shape their own future.

Together we are helping to change history.
